What You Need To Know

Purchasing a new home is really exciting.  After all, it’s a big step in your life.  And even though it may be a little intimidating, you don’t have to worry – because at True Homes, we’re here to help.

We think buying a new home is one of the most important things you can do.  It’s liberating.  It’s empowering.  And, most importantly, it is possible.

We want you to know that buying a home can be easier than you think.  And in order to help you, we’ve identified the 5 most important questions you’ll need to consider as you begin the homeownership process.

Just remember:  it’s all about you.

Question #1: Have you ever owned a home?

Answer: If not, buying one can seem really stressful.  But it doesn’t have to be.  You just need someone you can trust to walk you through the process: the financing, the timelines, the trade-offs, and the details.  And remember – it’s possible to find a home that fits your needs, your style, and even your budget.

Question #2:  Do you know your budget?

Answer:  When beginning the homebuying process, it’s important to determine a budget you feel comfortable with – one you’ll be able to live with for years to come.  With a little help, you can figure out how much you want to spend a month, explore financing options, and estimate mortgage payments.  It may surprise you to find out how many different financing options are available to you.  Because, after all, the homebuying process is anything but one-size-fits-all.  And neither is your budget.

Question #3:  Where do you want to live?

Answer: North?  South?  Close to the city?  Or far away from it?  Do you want to be in a specific school district?  Maybe you’d like to be really close to work?  Remember, where you live will make a big difference in how you live.

Question #4:  Do you want new or used?

Answer:  It’s important to understand the trade-offs that come with buying a used home.  With a used home, you will inherit someone else’s taste and style.  But with a new home, you’ll make decisions about floorplans and finishes from the ground up.  A new home is designed specifically for you, so it will be exactly what you’re looking for – and will match your lifestyle and budget perfectly.

Question #5: Space? Features?  It’s up to you.

Answer:  What’s more important to you:  More space?  More features?  Or maybe a little of both?  As you continue the homebuying process, you’ll need to make choices about the trade-offs involved.  Based on your budget, you can either have more space, more features, or a combination of both.  But one thing's for sure: no matter which home you choose, it should fit your style and needs.
